Eduardo Coudet Takes Responsibility and Acknowledges the Consequences of River's Negative Run
River Plate's coach Eduardo Coudet publicly acknowledged his responsibility for the team's poor performance. After losing five consecutive matches and failing to win in the Clausura, Coudet admitted that he understands the consequences of this negative run.
Coach Takes Responsibility
The coach expressed concern about the current situation of the team. "I always said I know where I am. It is a very complex and difficult situation after losing so many consecutive matches. I understand the consequences of such a streak," Coudet stated during the post-match press conference.
Coudet also addressed his own future with the club. "If results do not start to come, I will not do any harm to River, or its fans, or the club, or this administration that trusted me. I am the most self-critical," he said.
Public Criticism and WhatsApp Messages
Criticism multiplied on social media following the loss against Rosario Central, including WhatsApp messages from Coudet that were made public during the week. "I consider it a lack of respect because they were taken out of my personal phone. I never publicly express myself," explained the coach.
The Team's Present Performance
The 1-0 defeat to Tigre represents another blow within a poor overall performance and ongoing management issues, which began with the separation and confinement of 15 players at Cantilo and continued with an adverse run that has now reached five consecutive losses this season.
The Club's Future
Coudet also spoke about the arrival of Thiago Almada, who is expected to be a great hope for changing this reality. "Wanting Thiago to play after being on vacation and adjusting to the altitude in Bogotá would be unrealistic," explained the coach.
Confidence and Self-Criticism
"I have turned things around once as a player, and now I want to do it as a coach. I still have confidence," Coudet said before closing the press conference. "This is not a nice situation for us. Personally, I am uncomfortable with this situation,"
